Water up my nose, gasping for breath, I can only hear the rushing of water. As my lungs feel the air wafting down my throat, a new energy surges through my chest. My feet are paddling like an out of control jackhammer. Once again I am filled with oxygen, as I enter a dark, blue pit; deep and unfathomable. Going where only the bravest swimmers go. I lurch, as the Lazy River suddenly sucks me into its pull, dragging me into its watery depths below. As my underpants give me a very painful wedgie, my heart thumps through my skin. An evil voice is saying, “You’ll never make it, Josh. You’ll drown!” Trying to shake away the thought, I relax. As I exit the pool, grandma hands shaking, I know this will be a day to remember.
